Housing in Tokyo
Housing in Tokyo
Housing in Tokyo includes modern and traditional style. First, a traditional house is usually made
of wood and supported by metal pillars, and it does not have a designated use for each room aside from
the entrance area, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet. Any room can be a living room, a dining room, a
study room, or a bedroom. Second, there are many modern houses in Tokyo, such as a Ya house, it is built
of wood and is arranged in two floors, and the hard coat exterior of the house is painted in a bright white,
and is accented by white gutters, white trim work, a white metal roof, and simple white windows slightly
inset from the facade. Another modern house is a Tamatsu house, it is built of wood and is arranged in
two floors, and the interior and exterior are all painted white. A master bedroom, a main kitchen, and a
bath are positioned on the ground floor. A family room is placed on the first floor, the rooms of the
children on the second floor, followed by a rooftop terrace. Many young Japanese adults and the young
couple choose to live with their parents because that is the tradition of every Japanese for many years.
Because a family is very important to them, the family must be together and look after each other in the
same house.
