Odebrecht, the Brazilian company, which is an international heavyweight in construction has a

long history in Peru, dating back to 1979. This company is at the center of what has become
Latin America’s biggest corruption scandal, with politicians across the region facing allegations
of graft. Almost no major political figure in Peru has escaped the crisis. This is the case of Pedro
Pablo Kuczynski that after less than two years as president, was forced to resign due to the
corruption with Odebrecht. Despite leaving office, according to a new survey by polling firm GFK,
kuczynski's disapproval rating is 82 percent, so is an indication of how generalized corruption,
and the Odebrecht scandal in particular, have ravaged Peruvians’ faith in their elected leaders.

Although it is true, the corruption between Kucynski and Odebrecht has generated a negative
impact as in the society as in the Peruvian economic. That’s why in the lastest years, we had a
decline in the construction sector and loss of faith in our presidents. But should we despair? In
my opinion…
