Critique Paper: Desiring Her

Summary:

It was good to read your novel, Desiring Her. As a reader I learned a lot because of
your novel. I’ve learned that taking someone’s life or killing yourself isn’t the solution of
your problems all we need is to trust our heavenly father. I also learn that we should not
take revenge to someone who did wrong to us and let karma avenge for us. And I envy
you for writing this kind of novel. And I think this story well help those people who are
victims of depression and anxiety to be brave enough to face their fears and to be
confident in their selves.
Berry Lacsamana have been suffering depression and anxiety since her mother
left her alone with her father. She have been molested and beat-up by her father, uncle,
cousin Ariel and Ariel’s girlfriend Cindy, who is a prostitute. And worst her uncle locked
her up at the basement like an animal, when her father died. And when she escaped from
her uncle’s hand, sadly she is trying to kill herself because she taught that her life is
worthless and there is no use for her to live. She is afraid of people especially men
because of what happened to her. Meanwhile, Cadmus is in divorce process with her
wife, Cherry who had the same face with Berry. When Berry tried to kill herself again and
brought at the hospital Cadmus thought that she was Cherry her wife. So she brought
Cherry at his house then he notice that it wasn’t her wife so he investigated Berry and
found out that it was really not his wife. He also found out that Cherry and Cindy is the
same person. The truth is Cindy copied Berry’s face for her to get easily what Berry have.
Cadmus and Berry fell inlove with each other. And their plan to avenge for what Cindy
and Ariel did to them had successfully fulfilled.

Conclusion:

The author did well to catch the reader’s attention. When you read the story you
will also fell the pain which the characters experience. The author also want to share a
message that everyone had a different challenges in life and we shouldn’t not give up.
Especially for those who are suffering depression or anxiety. That every challenges that
our Lord God give to us is also for our sake to, make us stronger and he will also bring
someone for us to help us overcome the challenges.
