    The roads were along the


    river and canals. The first road was canal road and on the out skirts of Vijayawada nh16 was laid due
    to increase in population the city started expanding and nh16 become one of the major
    transportation way . Prakasam Barrage was built in 1959 it also acted as the connectivity between to
    districts.
