Enter the Panel Information
In this exercise, you will learn how to enter the Panel information for each level of the tower. (Panels are described in order, from the
top of the tower.)
Note: In this training, we will specify Standard Panels at each level. Standard Panels have been included in MStower to assist in
modeling towers. To specify a Standard Panel, review the options for face panels, plan bracing, hip bracing and cross-arms in the
MStower User Manual, Chapter 6.

Review the Steel Sections Library and the Guy Library
In this exercise, you will learn how to review the Sections Library and the Guy Library that are automatically installed in MStower.
4. In the MSEdit dialog, you can review each section that is available in this library. At this time, we will take this opportunity to review
the sections that will be used in the sample model for this training class: CHS26X3.2, CHS33x3.2, CHS48X3.2, EA45X45X5, and
EA50X50X6.
9. In the MSEdit dialog, you can review each guy that is available in this library. At this time, we will take this opportunity to review the
guys that will be used in the sample model for this training class: 5/8EHS and STIR_1.
Note: Sections and Guys are assigned to the tower through a Text Editor within MStower. To specify the sections and the guys in
the Text Editor, be sure to use the correct name as written in the libraries.

Specify the Steel Sections
In this exercise, you will learn how to specify the Steel Sections Library and how to add the appropriate steel sections that will be used
in the guyed tower.

Specify the Bolt Data
In this exercise, you will earn how to specify the bolt data in the MStower Editor. The bolt data block specifies bolt diameters, grades,
and other data required in checking the capacity of bolted end connections

Specify the Guy Geometry
In this exercise, you will learn how to specify the Guy Library and how to specify the properties of the guy wires and their arrangement
on the mast.

(XT, YT, ZT)
Number of Guys = 4
Angle Between Guys = 90 deg
Initial Tension = 9.8 kN
Guy Type = STIR_1
(XB, YB, ZB)
Note: The first line in the Guy Block will yield the 4 guys that are illustrated in the figure above.
3. Keep the MsEdit dialog open for the next exercise.

Specify the Profile Geometry
In this exercise, you will learn how to specify the profile geometry in the MStower Editor. The Profile Block of data provides the data
used to generate the node coordinates and member connectivity of the tower. Panels are described in order, from the top of the tower.
