2017 Performance-Evaluation Review
February 1, 2018
According to university ASPT guidelines, “Each DFSC/SFSC shall notify each faculty
member annually in writing of the faculty member’s performance evaluation and of any
recommended change in rank and/or tenure status. This letter shall provide an assessment
of the faculty member's strengths and weaknesses and, when applicable, progress toward
achievement of promotion and/or tenure,” (Illinois State University Faculty Appointment,
Salary, Promotion and Tenure Policies, Effective January 1, 2017, section XII, B, 5, p. 40).
This letter fulfills this ASPT requirement by addressing your annual performance review.
‘The SFSC wants to remind faculty that this annual performance review does not address
long-term contribution or equity. Later this year, the SFSC will conduct an annual salary
review that considers long-term faculty contribution, equity, and annual performance
(illinois State University ASPT document, pp. 37-40).
Please read this annual performance review carefully and incorporate the
recommendations into your professional activities and efforts. The recommendations,
along with your current productivity, are intended to facilitate your progress and
continued growth as a faculty member. If you choose to discuss the contents of this letter
with the SFSC, please let the Director of the School of Teaching and Learning know by
February 9.
