Imagine you didn't have all the rights you have right now because of the color of

your skin, Well this is how african americans lived under the segregation laws. I believe

that nonviolent protest are more effective because they don't damage property or harm

people, They are legal to do, And they also don't get frowned upon as easy as violent

protests do.

The first reason nonviolent protest are more effective is because they don't

damage property or have as much capability to harm innocent people which is a good

thing to do so it doesn't turn into a riot. This is also good because it doesn't have as

much vandalism as violent protests do. As quoted by Mohandas K. Gandhi “Everywhere

wars are fought and millions if people are killed. The consequence is not the progress of

a nation but the decline of one”. Non violent protest don't attack what the protesters are

trying to make peace with.

The second reason nonviolent protest are more effective is because they are

legal to do which means you don't he to worry about getting arrested as long as the

protest doesn't get to out of control like a riot. People also won't be as afraid to stand up

and protest what's right because if it legal to do then more people won't be afraid to go

protest. On the contrary to this is that violent protest are more effective because they

are more bold and faster working “Don't teach me to be nonviolent until you teach those

crackers to be nonviolent”-Malcolm X. Violent protests also put more of an urgency for

the opposing side of the protest to give what they are asking for.
 The final reason nonviolent protests are more effective is because they aren't as

frowned upon as violent protests are because when people think of violent protests

people think of riots and killing and fires or vandalism but when they think of nonviolent

they think of signs and being peaceful about it which is better for the protesters so they

won't get as much hate or discrimination. In conclusion nonviolent protests are more

effective than violent because they don't damage property or harm people, They aren't

against the law, They aren't frowned upon.
