The 1789 French Revolution have had a major ideological impact on the birth of sociology
because it was during this time that people began to question authority and established norms.
These events then led to drastic changes in the class system wherein Aristocrats lost power and
wealth, while peasants or the common people who were at the bottom rose to power which then
led to a wide-scale conflict and confusion.
Thus, philosophers wanted to make sense of these changes and sociology was born, the
study of society.
