Davao City celebrated its 82nd founding anniversary last
March 2019. This year’s month-long celebration of the
annual “Araw ng Dabaw” kicked off with a float parade
graced by notable tv personalities, non-private and
private groups along with the ethnic groups of the city.
The parade showcased the city’s rich culture displaying
the humble roots and diversity that encompass Davao as
a progressing city amidst all adversities.
The search for the

women to bear
the title Mutya ng
Dabaw has been
one of the
highlights of the
festivity. Out of 15
hopefuls, crowned
as the Mutya ng
Dabaw 2019 was
the 23-year-old
Clydel June
Tabacolde who
later revealed that
it was her first try
joining the city’s
biggest pageant.
She will be the city
ambassadress
along with her
court: Diwa ng
Davao Jeriza Uy
and Sinag ng
Davao Eula
Christine Napuli.c
