The expression "If you can't beat them, join them" is one among

the old saying or proverb. What this means is if you can not win
the argument, then be with them, who is your opponent. On the
one hand, it is fair to have your own thoughts or your own ideas.
Many people defend their own idea by themselves, but
sometimes they do not have enough arguments to convince
others. On the other hand, some people prefer to not think by
themselves and they choose the easy way that is the collective
idea which some people have so, they prefer to not argue also
feel secure because they belong from a group of people who
share the same idea. What is important is to have your own
point of view with enough evidence to support it.

One of the reasons, I disagree with this proverb is that people

think different so, everyone understands and sees the world in
different ways. Although, when we have some discussion with
someone, we try to give many ideas as we can even though, we
could be wrong and that is good because that makes us to be
and think as individual beings. That is part of what it means to
be human.

Another reason, to support my idea is if everybody thought the

same, there would not exist creativity, innovation, imagination,
etc. In fact, many scientists, artists, mathematicians, and people
who provided significant progress for humanity thought different
in their ages. They fought against crowds to defend their beliefs
and discovers. A very good example is when the internet was in
its first steps in the 90s, nobody believed the impact that would
have it. In that age, the majority of people thought the Internet
was not as good a place to invest as other things of their age.
And thanks for someones who decided to try and explore it, we
can join and do many things on the Internet.

In conclusion, it is good to have our own idea but, we have to

know that occasionally, we will have to defend our opinions and
to be sure if we are correct because it is really important to know
about the topic or theme that we will defend it.
