Being a PE/PM at RNZ carries a lot of responsibility but next to no authority.

 No Control of resources – Cannot approve resources – cannot hire key resources

 We sit lower in the chain of command than Construction / Engineering & Project Controls
managers.
 Timesheets of subordinates do not come through PM’s (RNZ employees)
 PE’s have the same reporting line as PM’s (Dave M.)

 We want higher productivity but have been forced use the existing contracts held by the
refinery.
o Largely reimbursable – with lack of available supervision.
