1. Introduction

1.1. Overview

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited is an Indian Hospital chain based


in Chennai India. It was founded by Dr Prathap C. Reddy in 1983. In
order to reduce the distance between the patient and doctors this
online service system was introduced by the Apollo hospitals. It aims
at bridging the gap between the two by providing most of the facilities
online like booking an appointment, locating a hospital, ordering
medicines and pharmacy stuffs, knowing details about the diseases
and providing assistance for any queries of the user.

This system contains many small functionalities in it like it has links


for the different pages which are themselves a single program and has
functionalities of their own. Examples are the blood connection
program, telemedicine program, ask assistant and many more.

2. Functional Requirements

2.1 Finding Hospital location Portal

Description: Here the user can find the hospital available near
his location.

Input: User inputs the location of his place

Output: The result about the hospital available at that location


is viewed to the user.

2.2 Online Booking Appointment Portal


Description: User needs to search for a doctor or hospital by
entering

the details about the address and city and then can book
appointment.

Input: User inputs his city name and books appointment.

Output: The details about the appointment fixed is viewed to


the user.

2.3 Book a Health check-up Portal

Description: Health check-up allows us to be proactive in


prevention and early detection of health issues. User can book a
health check-up online through this portal.

Input: User enters his basic details; Name, Email id, City and
has to select the hospital.
Output: The details about the Booking is viewed to the user.

2.4 Login and Sign up Module

Description: For the overall access of the system the user needs
to Sign up or Login into his account.

Input: User need to enter the basic details for Sign up and for
login enter the login

Output: The user is logged into the system and is able to access
whole system.
2.5 View Doctors Profile module

Description: From here the user can view the complete details
of all doctors such as qualification, experience, speciality and
achievements.
Input: User enter the doctor name or speciality of doctor and
the hospital name.
Output: The list of Top 10 doctors along with their details is
viewed to the user.

2.6 Online payment Portal

Description: User can make payments online through this


portal.

Input: User has to login first and then input details about the
payment.

Output: The payment information whether successful or not is


viewed to the user.
2.7 View health records Module
2.8 Description: It is an online service which lets users receive vital
information like lab reports, health checks directly from hospital on
the health records of user.
Input: User needs to sign in to his account.
Output: The records are displayed on the user’s ID once he logs
in.

2.8 Home Care Service Portal


Description: To minimize risks of travel issues, procedures
such as administration of vaccinations, wound dressing can be
done in comfort of the home.
Input: User needs to enter the city, name, email id, mobile and
submit data.
Output: The confirmation message is sent and team visit the
home.

3. Non-functional Requirements
3.1. Maintainability
The system is developed in such a manner that its functionality
can be enhanced to support further development in the system.
3.2. Usability
The system is designed to allow any user, whether registered
or not to access most parts of it. But a registered user can
have access to all the functions of the system.
3.3. Security
Security is provided in the system in a way that different
users will not be able to success everything in the system.
The database will not be within everyone’s reach.
3.4. Reliability
The system shall be reliable. If the server crashes or fails the
data will not be lost because a backup will be maintained.
3.5. Performance
The system shall be based on web and has to be run from a
web server.
The system shall take initial load time depending on internet
connection strength.
