LESSON PLAN (ACAD)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a.) Differentiate factual statements from those with opinions and incorrect information.

II. Subject Matter


a.) Topic: Facts, Opinions, and Incorrect information.
b.) Reference: English to Academic Purposes (Module 4, Pp. 37-48)
c.) Materials: Book and Visual Aids

III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities
1.) Review: what was our last topic yesterday?
2.) Motivation:
Mark each with an F if it is a fact, O if it is an opinion, and I if it is an
incorrect information. Write your answer on the blank.

___3.) Peter is in the tourism business.
___4.) Peter is a very successful in the tourism business.

B. Developmental Activities
1.) Presentation:
Today, I will discuss about facts, opinions, and incorrect information.
 What is Opinion?
Opinion – is subjective. If is based on or influenced by personal beliefs on things.
Example:
 What is Facts?
Facts – is objective. It is not influenced by personal feelings or judgements.
Example:
 What is Incorrect Information?
Incorrect Information – it is the opposite of facts and also it is same as an opinion.
Example:
a.) Activity: Group the class into 3.
Identify three celebrities who draw huge crowds of fans nationwide or worldwide.
Write their names and short description about them. For each celebrity, write one fact and
one opinion him/her.
