Creatine Kinase (CK)

- It reversibly catalyzes the reaction between creatine and ATP to yield creatine phosphate and ADP.
- CK activity is proportional to the absorbance increase of NADPH at 340 nm.

Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT)

- It occurs on the canalicular surface of he hepatocyte and catalyzes the transfer of gamma-glutamyl
residue of glutathione to another amino acid.

Lactate Dehydrogenase

- Is a class 1 enzyme that acts on a CH-OH group of donors with NAD+ as acceptor and catalyzes the
transfer of hydrogen in the form of hydride ion
- It is a zinc-containing enzyme that is part of the glycolytic pathway; found in the cytoplasm of all cells
and tissues in the body.

Lipase

- Lipase cleave fatty esters of glycerol.

- Several isozymes of lipase; pancreatic lipase, intestinal lipase, lipoprotein lipase and gastric lipase.
- Assays for lipase can be performed by adding long chain fatty acid esters to serum and the reaction
monitored titrimetrically.
