FACILITATING PLAY/GAME/ACTIVITY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

LESSON/TOPIC:
The Five Senses of Our Body

OBJECTIVES:
The pupils should be able to:
 Recognize the difference among five senses.
 Demonstrate the different senses of our body.
 Appreciate the importance of the five senses in our everyday living.

VALUES INTEGRATED:
The pupils will learn to follow rules.
The pupils will learn to appreciate the skills of others.
The pupils will learn to be responsible.

TITLE OF ACTIVITY/GAME/PLAY:
Adventure Trail

PROCEDURES:
1. The pupils will be grouped in to five groups.
2. There are five stations that must be played by different groups.
3. Each group will be assigned to play each station.
4. In the first station which is the sight station:
 They will have to demonstrate how to use the objects that are presented to them.
 After demonstrating they will have to identify if what sense they use.
 If they answer it correctly they can now go to the other station.
5. In the second station which is the sound station:
 They will hear different sounds and songs.
 They will identify if what sense must be used in that station.
 If they answer it correctly they can now go to the other station.
6. In the third station which is the touch station:
 There is a box filled with objects with different textures.
 While wearing a blindfold they have to put their hand inside the box and hold one
object.
 While holding the object they have to guess the texture of it.
 After guessing the texture, they will identify if what sense must be used in that
station.
 If they answer it correctly they can now go to the other station.

7. In the fourth station which is the taste station:


 There are printed pictures of foods and pretend as if they are eating it literally.
 After that, they will identify if what sense must be used in that station.
 If they answer it correctly they can now go to the other station.
8. In the fifth station which is the smell station:
 There are some scented materials that will be presented to them.
 They will identify if what sense must be used in that station.
 If they answer it correctly they can now go to the other station.

MATERIALS:
 5 boxes
 Eyeglass
 Mirror
 Sunglasses
 DIY Telescope
 DIY Jar filled with different tiny objects that will create sounds.
 Tansan
 Speaker
 Sponge
 Scrub
 Fabric
 Printed pictures of foods
 Perfume with different scent
