My name is Emma Abramson. I am

writing about my experiences as a
student, a daughter, a traveler, and an
athlete.
my background

Arlington is my home, I was born and raised here. I attended

Long Branch Elementary School for my first six years of
education, and now I’ve been at Thomas Jefferson for two. I
have a twin brother (Matthew Abramson), two amazing
parents, and Boomer, my four year old golden retriever. The
five of us always have fun together, and the memories are
endless.
family favorites

My family always seeks adventure. Adventure, for us, is traveling.

We’ve been to Mexico, London, Barcelona, Italy, France, and
many states in the U.S. In Italy, I got to see the Colosseum, the
Pantheon, and The Leaning Tower of Pisa. I finally got to put my
Spanish in use when I visited Barcelona in 2018. I went surfing
in Southern France, and went halfway up the Eiffel Tower in
Paris. We’ve seen so many historical figures outside of the U.S,
and I can’t wait to see more.
my river house

Another special place in my heart, is our family’s river house in the

Northern Neck. It’s my favorite place in the whole wide world.
Every summer, we drive down with our grandparents, other family,
and friends. We fish, tube, waterski, eat crabs, paddleboard,
kayak, you name it. My whole childhood was in that house, and all
of the memories and laughs hang upon the walls.
my soccer life

Anyone who knows me, knows that my favorite season is Fall, or as I call it, soccer season.
Soccer has been apart of my life for about nine years. I was three years old when I joined
my first rec team. Ever since that day, I knew soccer was going to be my sport. I’m on the
top team for Arlington U14 girls, but it wasn’t always this way. In May 2015, I tried out
for Arlington Soccer Association for the very first time. I made Blue, which is the third
best team in the league. I practiced hard, but in 2016, I made Blue again. The following
year I made Blue, again. I was so determined to move up, that I practiced almost
everyday. I would train with my parents, my private soccer coach, even by myself
sometimes. In 2018, I finally made white, the second best team. I guested up a lot with
the red team (the #1 team), and knew I fit in well with them. In May 2019, I made the
top team and it’s been great. I’ve made many amazing friends, and hope to continue
playing soccer throughout high school.
These are the highlights of my life so far. There
are so many things that are going to happen in my
life, but this is just the start of so many
memories. I’m so excited or 7th grade and can’t wait
for more fun.
