PROPHETIC BLESSINGS

Immersion

Abstract
And I would not have known Him, but the One Who sent me to immerse in water, that One
said to me ‘Upon whomever you would see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, He
is the One Who immerses in the Holy Spirit.’ And I saw and I had borne witness that this One
is the Son of God.” John 1:33-34

IMMERSION

See attachment.

Genesis 1: The First Immersion

And He said, “Every plant which My Heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted. You must
leave them: they are blind guides of blind: and if blind would guide blind, both will fall into a
pit.” Matthew 15:13-14 ONM

 Jesus knows and reveals the planting of the Father and the one that He did not plant
by exposing its root.
 Plants show their fruits but the roots are hidden. Jesus reveals the hidden roots of
every plant.
 Since Jesus says His word is spirit we need to explore the spiritual truths that are
coming out of His mouth.
 Every spiritual planting has their fruits and corresponding spiritual roots. They are
seen only by men like Y’shua who were imparted with spiritual eyes.
 The planting of the Father must remain. Otherwise, it must be uprooted and exposed.
 There is an enlightened way of seeing—seeing things in the spirit, and a blind way of
seeing—seeing things in the flesh.
 Enlightened seeing is coming from pure and clean thoughts of the Holy Spirit, blind
seeing is impure, contaminated, and unclean.
 The planting of the Lord is rooted in the Lord.
 The planting of the Lord sees and speaks revelations from above.
 The planting of the Lord gives highest regard to revealed things from above.
 The planting of the Lord has nothing to do with views from below.
 The planting of the Lord submits to the enlightened revelations from above and he
judges darkened thoughts from below.
 The planting of the Lord is equipped with the seven eyes empowered by the Spirit of
the Lord.
 Spiritually eyed believer’s direction goes heavenward. Blind seer’s direction goes
down to the pit.
 Spiritual seers are unveiled every time they look to the Messiah, whereas, blind seers
are kept veiled.

Immersion as Planting of the Father:

John the Immerser was in the wilderness, proclaiming an immersioni of repentance for
forgiveness of sins. 5. And all the country of Judea and all the people from Jerusalem were
going out to him, and, confessing their sins, they were being immersed by him in the Jordan
River. Mark 1:4-5 ONM

This is concerning Whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me Who was before me, because He is
more prominent than I.’ 31. And I had not known Him, but, so that He would be revealed to
Page 2 of 4

Israel through this, I came immersing in water.” 32. And John testified, saying that “I had seen
the Spirit descending from heaven as a dove and it was staying on Him. 33. And I would not
have known Him, but the One Who sent me to immerse in water, that One said to me ‘Upon
whomever you would see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, He is the One Who
immersesii in the Holy Spirit.’ 34. And I saw and I had borne witness that this One is the Son of
God.” John 1:30-34 ONM

Y’shua as presented by God in the Scripture is the purest, unblemished Lamb of God. He was
also seen by men in his time as the blameless and sinless Son of God. His purity is
characterized by His ability to see beyond the physical realm, and his ability teach and discern
the spirituality of things. As a man, the Father imparted Him the power to transcend from the
physical to spiritual and vice versa right after the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove descended
and rested on Him, which is the act of the Father baptizing His Son in the Holy Spirit.

After Y’shua was immersed/baptized in the Spirit, the authority was given to Him as well to
immerse/baptize the believers in the Holy Spirit. Then when Y’shua came He spoke to them,
saying, “All authorityiii has been given to Me in heaven and upon the Earth.” Matthew 28:18
ONM

When Y’shua spoke about the planting of the Lord, He is inviting us to explore the spirituality
of things in the Scripture and develop the empowerment to discern the things that are from
God and the things that are not from God. Looking from the fruits down to the roots. From
the seen (fruit) to the unseen (root). If it is from God, it will remain planted. If it is not, it must
be uprooted.

Genesis Roots of Holy Spirit Immersion

1. In the beginning Godiv created the heavens and the earth. 2. And the earth was totally
empty, devoid of all life, (Jer. 4: 23) both animal and plantv; 3 and darknessvi was upon the
face of the deep. And the Spirit of God hovered, brooded, over the face of the waters. Genesis
1:1-3 ONM

The Spirit is that which gives life, the flesh does not profit anything: the words that I have
spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63 ONM

The earth as described in Genesis 1:2 was totally empty and devoid of all life. In verse 3 the
presence of darkness speaks of its existence as opposed to all the goodness about God. The
Spirit of God is both hovering and brooding over the waters which is the only known surface
of earth at the time. The whole earth is immersed by His Spirit. He hovered, brooded and
pondered then began the process of purification, bringing life, and putting things in order to
make everything look good and very good according to the eyes (seven spirits) of God.
Eventually on the sixth day, the enlightened and purified earth gave birth to the first man,
Adam. This is the first immersion in the Holy Spirit done during the transformation of the new
planet earth. God spoke the words of life in six days.

The Holy Spirit is still doing the immersion for those whose heart are fully committed to Him.
Today in our time, God is pouring out His Spirit to impart upon the people His thoughts and
plans in the coming future.

There are many events of Holy Spirit immersion in the Bible in the form of types and shadows
as they point towards the coming of the Messiah. This time it refers to the effect of the
immersion on the person who receives it. The key to knowing this is by referring to Y’shua’s
statement in the book of Acts chapter 1.

“But you will take power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be My witnesses
in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the outermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
ONM

 Exodus 3:1-17 – Moses and the burning bush.

 Numbers 11:16-30 – The 70 elders prophesied.
 The anointing of Joshua – Numbers 27:15-23
 All the prophets received immersion in the Holy Spirit
 The man Y’shua was immersed in the Holy Spirit – Matthew 3:13-17
 The apostles and disciples were immersed on the Feast of Shavuot – Acts 1:8; 2:1-18
 Cornelius and his household were immersed in the Holy Spirit – Acts 10:44 (Please
read the whole chapter 10 of Acts).

The Final Immersion (Purification)

And there will no longer be night and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the
sun, (Zech. 14: 7) because the Lord God will give light upon them, and those whose names are
written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will reign forever and ever. (Isa. 60: 19, 20, Dan. 7: 18, 27)
Revelation 22:5 ONM Bible

5 Night
will no longer exist, so they will need neither the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun,
because Adonai, God, will shine upon them. And they will reign as kings forever and ever.
Revelation 22:5 CJB

5 There
will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for
the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:5 NIV

7. But it will be one day which will be known to the LORD*, not day or night, but it will be, at
evening time it will be light. (Isa. 60: 19, 20, Rev. 21: 23, 25; 22: 5) 8. And it will be in that Day
that living waters will go out, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward
the western sea: it will be in summer and in winter. (Rev. 22: 1) 9. And the LORD* will be King
over all the earth. In that Day the LORD* will be One (John 17: 11) and His name One. (Rev.
11: 15). Zechariah 14:7-9 ONM Bible

i
Immersion, which we call Baptism, was and still is Jewish and calls for total immersion. Immerse is the
translation of the Hebrew R-H-Ts and the Greek word, baptidzo, both meaning to immerse. The Jewish people
Page 4 of 4

had practiced immersion for purification after repentance for more than 1,000 years before the birth of Y’shua.
All the people that John the Immerser and Y’shua’s disciples immersed were thoroughly familiar with immersion,
which we call baptism. We do not see immersion in translations of the Hebrew Scriptures because the Hebrew
word that would appropriately be translated Immerse is translated with some other word. Often our Christian
translators, as in Lev. 16: 4 NIV, say… so he must bathe himself. The word translated bathe is rahats, meaning
immerse, and the same meaning as the Greek word baptidzo. Flowing water had to be used for immersion so it
would come from sources such as a stream, spring, or rainwater caught in a cistern. Dunking completely under
water seven times is called a mikveh, which is for purification, as Naaman was told in 2 Ki. 5: 10. As in modern
Judaism, most immersions in the New Testament were self-immersion. John and the disciples who immersed by
the Jordan River would stand on the bank preaching, then as people became repentant, they would wade into
the river and immerse, with the one preaching still standing on the bank. The same would be true of Peter’s
messages at the Temple, where there were many mikvehs. See Acts 2: 14-42. Certainly some in the New
Testament were immersed by others, as Philip immersed the eunuch in Acts 8: 38. When this was done, the
person doing the immersing placed a hand on the head of the one being immersed to hold him under water,
forcing a struggle to come out of the water as a reminder of the dying to self and the new birth, paralleling a
newborn baby’s struggle at birth. The Temple in Jerusalem had so many ritual baths that for the 3,000 in the
second chapter of Acts to immerse would have taken about twenty minutes. Each synagogue in Y’shua’s day had
one or more ritual baths, immersion pools, for immersion. These were to be filled with “living water” from a
stream or even a roof cistern to catch rainwater. However in Jn. 2: 6 we see stone jugs used to carry the water
of purification. Stone was used because stone does not become unclean. Metal and glass containers become
unclean, but can be cleansed. Pottery vessels that become unclean have to be destroyed. One New Man Bible,
