ALICANTE

Places to visit
In the website of TripAdvisor you can find a lot of recommendations
(https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g187524-Activities-
Province_of_Alicante_Valencian_Country.html)
But the essentials ones for are this ones:
Barrio de Santa Cruz: Walking around I found this neighbourhood!!! And I said, this is in
Alicante?? Because it is true that it seems a little corner of Andalusia, a small town of Granada,
Jaen, Malaga ...
The fact is that I fell in love with this neighbourhood, I have to say that in photos, it is beautiful,
but in person it is even more beautiful ...

Castillo de Santa Bárbara: The Castillo de Santa Bárbara is one of the places I like most in
Alicante besides the beaches. For those interested in history, on one side, the stones and part
of the mountain of the castle, have a face shape, better known as "the face of the Moorish."
There is a story that tells that when the castle was still inhabited, lived in a princess who fell in
love with a " Moorish", but their marriage was forbidden by their father and she became so sad
that she decided to commit suicide by throwing herself from that part of the Castle and that, his
beloved lover, once he learned of what had happened he did the same for love; Since then and
according to clear, the face of the " Moorish" is in the castle ...
A nice story, and a very nice place to visit. There is a museum, an exhibition hall where various
works of art are continually exhibited, a restaurant and even a kiosk. There is also a picnic no
more entering on the left, where you can spend the afternoon with your family or rest a bit that
slopes and old stairs tired ... lol ... for those who have more problems with the climb, tell them
that too They have an elevator that costs just over € 2 and leaves you at the top of the castle,
so you just have to get off ... And of course, amazing views of Alicante!!
Casco antiguo (old city): The colourful old town of Alicante has two distinct faces:
The first of these photos where you see the peace and quiet of the mornings.
On sunny days, almost always, piles of colours are distinguished by all the facades and the
people of the bars clean the portals. But another good different is the night; In the same streets,
at night, they open dozens of gambling dens, bars and restaurants. It is the area known as "the
neighbourhood" where there is party until the many of the dawn, good sessions of music Live
and party through the streets.
Paseo marítimo de Alicante
The promenade of Alicante is how best you can finish your visit to this magical Mediterranean
city. The promenade is known as Paseo de la Esplanada and extends parallel to the seaport
where the views of the yachts and sailboats are incredible.
Where eat the best tapas?
Here you have a few recommendations…, maybe you will discover more…

- With the originality by flag, a few months ago opened in the center of Alicante a cozy
and elegant restaurant called Nimúu. This brief period of time has been sufficient to
place him as one of the referents of the city, gaining prestige and recognition with the
passage of days. And deservedly.
The local, which on Saturdays also offers the option of dinner with show, has surprising
tapas. For starters, an essential: the mushroom candies with Iberian. Croquettes very
varied and to each one more tasty and attractive, a spectacular cannelloni of duck confit
with foie, diverse pans, salads and much more. A place to enjoy and repeat.
Nimúu
Calle San Fernando, 12. Alicante.

Open every day.

- What to say about Sento. Undoubtedly, the best tapestries in Alicante, whose success is
palpable in view of the expansion of its dining rooms around the city. Sento is
synonymous with good food, close and casual treatment and printing flavors. In the
original place, next to the Rambla, people crowded to eat even in the street if the few
square meters do not allow the entrance of more diners. Worth it.
All their covers deserve a prize, but one of them in particular has it. The "Iván" mound
was awarded as the Top of the Year in 2013, and has been the star of the venue ever
since. Loin of beef, foie, nougat, scaled salt and arugula: spectacular. Also, eggs with
potatoes and ham, mini sandwiches and endless choices always better than the
previous.

The bar of the Piripi is a demonstration of exuberance born in the Mediterranean. One of the
most respected establishments in Alicante, which fills its fame with a surgical work of the
highest raw material. The quality of each of the ingredients makes them enjoyable in their
natural state or with simple preparations, such as ham, Dénia prawns or shrimp.
This fact, although it could lead to the easy, does not detract an iota of elaboration and
technique in the preparation of the vast majority of its dishes. Loud tapas and rice dishes, such
as foie grass or dry lobster rice. The sure bet is confirmed when everything seems tied and well
tied: Piripi has a sensational selection of desserts to invite to repeat and leave a good taste, if
possible, the most sweet.

BENIDORM
Where to eat in Benidorm?
These are some of the restaurants that I can recommend you in Benidorm:
La Mejillonera (The Mussel worker): the mussels here are awesome, and the rice and paellas
too. It's very cheap. I take it for 10 euros per person. And on top of everything was great.
Where to find it? Passeig de la Carretera, 16.

Others options:
Panoramic restaurant Belvedere on the 21st floor of the Hotel Madeira, to eat well and with
good panoramic views. Highly recommended especially at sunset. The price is around 30 euros
per person.
In the Basque area (zona Vasca, see map below) you will have a lot of bars to go of varied
paintings like Cava Aragonesa or Pintxos Aurrera.

Benidorm essential for all audiences

1.- Take a walk around the old city (Casco Viejo). There you will find several charming places,
such as the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana.
2.- Mention aside you deserve to see the Mirador del Castillo de Benidorm, for me the most
beautiful place in Benidorm. With those pampered white balconies. I always like to drop by here
at dusk. The sunsets from here overlooking the two beaches are very top.
3.- Stroll along the promenade of Benidorm both Levante beach and Poniente beach, although
the most moving is the Levante area, especially at night.
4.- Take a boat trip to the island of Benidorm, the island that you have right opposite and is one
of the icons of the city.
5.- Take the boat from the port that takes you all the coast to Alicante and continue the
excursion to the island of Tabarca. Its crystalline waters are Marine Reserve of the
Mediterranean.
6.- Eat a good rice from Alicante and good paellas. Benidorm endows a great variety of national
gastronomy with Andalusian, Asturian, Murcian and how not the famous Basque area where
you will find pintxos almost as rich as in the Basque Country.
