2 System basics

The TELETASK system is made out of one or more a DoIP central unit(s) and a range of
optional input- and output interfaces. The interfaces are connected with each other
over a high speed bus called AUTOBUS, which is wired wth AUTOBUS cable with 2 power
wires 12V and two data wires. The internal wires for 12V power and data are 3000V
isolated against external conductors.
All interfaces are powered over the AUTOBUS. The databus can be up to 1000 meter
long. Extra 12V power supplies may be needed to upgrade the Voltage. Every interfaces
needs a Voltage of at least 9VDC.
The system is to be configured with PROSOFT configuration software. This can be done
on-line and off-line with the hardware. All basic configuration settings are contained in
one .nbt file which can be downloaded to the DoIP system over an Ethernet LAN/WAN
connection.

On power failure, the system will memorize all statuses of relays, dimmers and
temperature settings in its non- volatile memory to avoid data loss. When powering up,
the system will recover all relay-, dimmer- and temperature settings from its non-
volatile memory and put all connected devices to the appropriate settings like before
the power failure, within a time frame of less than one minute.

PROSOFT and DoIP firmware updates are downloadable from the internet to keep the
system up to date with the latest features.

3 Aim of the TELETASK system

The TELETASK system aims to obtain the best level of comfort, security and energy
management. Therefore the electrical equipment available in the concerned homes and
projects is to be connected to the TELETASK system and DoIP networks resulting in a full
integration.

Due to this integration the people using the system will have both powerful and easy-to-
use interfaces to manage all connected devices and systems.
This full integration results in a limited number of control panels with maximum
decoration effect. No different branded panels in different designs and colours and sizes
are to be used on the walls. Only buttons and panels in harmony with each other are
used, from where all different functionalities of the different devices can be managed.
On such buttons and panels, both the lighting and curtains can be controlled. But also
air-conditioning (cooling and heating), lighting in other rooms indoor- and outdoor,
doors, gates, audio, etc… can be controlled on one unique panel or touch screen.

Page 4 Specifications for TELETASK Home Automation systems

4 The Choice of the user interface

The possible user interfaces to control all devices are to be defined depending on the
kind and the number of functions needed at that particular point.

Possible user interfaces (sensors):

- Standard momentary push buttons (brand- independant). Window contacts,
water sensors… Any other sensor needed for Home Automation functionalities
can be intergrated (integration of swimming pool, sauna, technical devices like
wind-speed sensors, etc…). Motion- and presence sensors.
- “AURUS” –family capacitive touch panels with 2, 4, 8 buttons with feed-back
led’s, including built-in temperature sensor, IR- remote control receiver, buzzer
for acoustic feed-back and night-lighting function.
- Full colour capacitive touch screens “AURUS-TFT” with 4.5” display and “MAIOR”
10, 15 and 19” touch screens for central control and management.
- “GUI+” software license for Windows touch screen- PC’s and tablets.
- “iSGUI” for mobile devices like smart phones and tablets with Android or Apple
operating systems.
General control:
If only one control (for example a light) is needed, a single push button can be used.
When up to 4 functions are needed a multi-push button panel will be sufficient.
If special functions are needed like LED-feedback or IR remote control, a multi-
pushbutton panel will be needed or a specific capacitive touch panel with more buttons
or up to a full touch screen.

Remark: All TELETASK touch screens from the AURUS and MAIOR family are full
capacitive technology. The AURUS touch panels have ceramic back printing which
garantees lifetime colour stability of the print (blac, white, grey and gold ceramic back-
printing)

Page 5 Specifications for TELETASK Home Automation systems

5 General technical specifications

All interfaces are to be connected on the AUTOBUS (bus topology). Sensors are to be
wired directly to their AUTOBUS interfaces as also applies to standard momentary push
buttons and comparable voltage free contacts.
At the other hand some interfaces and systems are connected over IP (Ethernet) with
the system and each other. These may be IP camera’s, IP-audio systems, IP connected
touch screens, etc…

All power output cables run from the interface in the electrical cabinet(s) to the
connected loads (star topology).

AUTOBUS goes from panel to panel (bus topology) .

Power loads (lamps, motors, etc…) are cabled to the electrical cabinet

The panels are connected via the AUTOBUS to the central unit, which is powered by an
internal or external power supply. More power supplies may be used in larger
installations.

Input Central unit Output

Page 6 Specifications for TELETASK Home Automation systems

Standard buttons are connected via a Cookie interface (up to 4 contact inputs per
Cookie) on the AUTOBUS cable. Other controls are done via touch panels and touch
screens on the AUTOBUS.
Power interfaces to loads at the other hand are also connected to the AUTOBUS to
control lights, motors, curtains, etc...

Page 7 Specifications for TELETASK Home Automation systems

6 Specifications on the user interfaces

6.1 General purpose momentary push buttons (voltage free - any

brand)

Any voltage free momentary push button can be used for this functionality. If more
buttons are preferred, the buttons can be grouped together as becoming one control
terminal for the user. About any manufacturer of electrical switches has such
momentary push buttons in his product range. TELETASK recommends to use high
quality buttons which have the possibility to have a TDS12124 (Cookie interface with 4
contact inputs) build-in in the wall box at the back of the switch(es).

For every 4 buttons, a Cookie interface TDS12124 is needed. If feed-back LED’s are
available on the buttons and IR remote control receiver is needed, a TDS12125 can be
used instead of the TDS12124.

7.8 AIR CONDITIONING integration

There are many ways of integrating heating and cooling systems with the TELETASK
system. One of the best integrating solutions is the IP-integration with DAIKIN systems
and Mitsubishi Electric. For other centralized HVAC integration, TELETASK supplies
several interfaces which support in total more than 150 heat pump cooling/heating
VRV/VRF system from most important brands.

Other integration functions exist of multi fan speed control, on/off valve and fan
control, pulse width modulation valve- and circulation pump control, etc… TELETASK
supports centralized and decentralized systems, as well as fan controlled, water- based
heating for radiators, floor- and ceiling heating, electrical window- and ceiling heating
systems, sun- based thermal systems, etc… Control can be done with switch outputs,
analog output control for servo motor mixing valves and digital control over AUTOBUS,
MODBUS and Ethernet.

But there is also a basic integration solution via IR signal control for small split / multi-
split AC systems. The IR-COOKIE is the most price effective interface for this kind of
control.

7.8.3 IR-COOKIE infrared flasher interface TDS14065 for airco and A/V
control

Picture TDS14065 IR-COOKIE interface:

The TELETASK “IR-COOKIE” AUTOBUS interface is available to integrate small HVAC split
units (AC and heat pumps),. The IR-COOKIE is a learnable IR transmitter that can
simulate the IR signal of the AC system remote control. It is brand independent which
means it is compatible with almost any brand.

Configuration and learning the IR codes is done in PROSOFT. The learned IR codes are
saved automatically to a library which the system integrator can re-use in his other
projects.

The HVAC split units are controllable using standard push buttons, TELETASK touch
panels, touch screens etc., through the IR COOKIE. This solution fits perfectly for
apartments and homes with one or more indoor HVAC units. Controls such as ‘ON, 21 °C,
slow speed’ or ‘AC OFF’ can easily be added to a mood such as ‘arriving home’ or ‘going to
sleep’. For each unit you want to control, one IR-COOKIE is needed.

The IR-COOKIE can also be used for Audio/Video integration (receiver, TV, set-top box,
satellite receiver etc.)

8 Supervision software

8.1 Control Tower (ref. TDS15110 master license and TDS13511 slave
license)

The "Control Tower" software runs on the building management PC for technical alarm
processing and camera surveillance applications. The software is meant to be used by an
operator who is responsible for the technical surveillance of a number of apartments,
houses or buildings (smart buildings – smart shops - smart villages). Thanks to the
Control Tower software, up to five operators can simultaneously work from any location
(via a LAN/WAN connection).

The main screen of CONTROL TOWER contains an overview of all houses or buildings. In
case of an alarm, the alarm message appears in a dedicated window and the concerned
house/building is clearly indicated by a flashing symbol. The alarm is also supported by
an alert and a customized voice message, asking for the operator’s urgent attention.
With permission of the resident, the supervisor can be given access to some of the basic
functions of the house and other additional services can be offered. A simple phone call
to the operator would be sufficient. For example: change the temperature in your
holiday house.

Thanks to the TELETASK DoIP concept, the building can send automatic E-mail and SMS
messages to the resident(s), independent from the Control Tower operator.

License policy: There is a MASTER license TDS135110 needed which runs on one DoIP
central unit (preferable at the CONTROL TOWER master PC location) and one TDS13511
slave license per every DoIP central unit (=house, shop or building).
