‘The overall HSC resullis shown as HSC Pass, " GCE Award or as NO AWARD. HSC Pass wil be awarded to a candidate who has mot the
requirements of HSC. * GCE Award incicates thatthe candidate met the entry crtena for HSC but not the requirements for HSC Pass bocause the
number or level of pass grades obtained is not suficient. NO AWARD indicates thatthe candidate has obained UNGRADED or NO RESULT in

GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS Level) results are reported on a S-point scale of grades: a(a), b(b). e(), d(d) or e(@), grade a(a) being the
highest and grade e(e) the lowest. The content and difficulty of a GCE AS Level examination is equivalent to the fest half of a corespancing
GCE Advanced Level
GCE Advanced Lovol (A Level) results are reported on a 6-point scale of grades: A’(a'), Ala), Bb), Cle), O(d) oF Ele), grade A*(a) being the
highest and grade Ele) tho lowest. Under some circumetances where a candlsate has entered or GCE A Level but dave nol achiove a grade Ee)
‘or above, a GCE AS Level grade a(a) to o(e) may be awarded in the sya.
The text Advanced Subsidiary or Advanced Level prefixing the result indicates the lovel at which tho result was awarded forthe sylabus,
UNGRADED indicates a standard below thet raqurad for grade efe) for GCE AS Level and grade E(e) for GCE A Level
NO RESULT indicates that a result cannot be Issued because of absence forthe whole or part of the examination in the syllabus or because of
decision nol fo issue a result for some other reason,
PENDING indicates that a result cannot be issued at present but wil flow in due course.
