is an Expo-facto study. The research objectives are: (1) to describe the interest in learning
mathematics and mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1
Sawerigad, (2) to analyze the influence of learning interest on mathematics learning
outcomes in grade VIII students at SMP Negeri I Sawerigadi. (1) Interest in Learning has a
significant correlation to the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VIII students of SMP
Negeri 1 Sawerigadi, (2) Interest in learning has a significant positive effect on mathematics
learning outcomes of Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Sawerigadi. The population in this
study were all VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sawerigadi in the 2018/2019 school year,
totaling 42 students spread in 2 parallel classes. Sampling, all population = sample (total
sampling). The number of samples in the study were 42 students. Data retrieval is done in 2
ways, namely questionnaire, test. The questionnaire is used to measure the level of student
learning interest. The test is used to measure student mathematics learning outcomes.
Analysis of the data used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis. From the
results of data analysis concluded: (1) Learning interest variables have an average value of
88.86, with a maximum value of 144 and a minimum value of 63. While the mathematics
learning outcomes variable has an average of 75.95, a maximum value of 100 and a value of
minimum 60. (2) Learning discipline has a significant correlation to student mathematics
learning outcomes as indicated by the correlation value of 0.518 which is included in the
medium category. (3) Interest in learning has a significant positive effect on mathematics
learning outcomes for Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri I Sawerigadi.
