Lolly Stick Nativity Christmas Craft Instructions

You will need:

Lolly sticks
Acrylic paint
PVA glue
Gold or silver pipe cleaner
Scissors
Black fine liner pen
Ribbon

You may need an adult

to help you with the
cutting for this craft.

Instructions
1. Start by taking five lolly sticks; these will
form the outline of the stable. Use scissors
to cut the top off two of the sticks, at about
1/3 of the way down from the top. You can
discard the top parts. Next, paint all of the
lolly sticks brown and leave them to dry.

2. Then, take another lolly stick and cut it in half.

Use paint to decorate one half to resemble Mary
and the other half to resemble Joseph. We have
painted Mary and Joseph to look like they are
facing each other and looking downwards.
We also used a black pen to draw their eyes.

3. Take another lolly stick and cut it into

thirds. Paint one third white to represent
an angel and use the black pen to draw
the eyes. We have also stuck on pieces of
pipe cleaner to make a collar and halo.

4. Take another of the thirds from step 3 and

cut it slightly smaller. Decorate it to resemble
Baby Jesus, using paint and the black pen.

5. Take the other third from step 3 and paint

it brown. Once dry, cut it lengthways to
make thin sticks. Glue these together in
an ‘X’ shape to resemble a manger.

6. Now, you have all of the parts for the nativity

scene and can glue them together! Begin by
assembling the stable; placing the five pieces
as shown in the photograph and gluing them
together using PVA glue. Leave to dry.

7. Then stick Mary, Joseph, Jesus and

the Angel onto the back of the stable
frame, as shown in the photograph.
You now have your nativity scene!

8. Tie a loop of ribbon onto the top of

the lollipop nativity scene, so that it
can be hung as a decoration.
