Cahyani, Ika Nurul 2019. Effect of Balloon Blowing Relaxation on Physiological
Relaxation Response and Decreased Pain in Patients TURP BPH Post Op in Dahlia 4 Room Dr. Hospital Soegiri Lamongan. Essay. Lamongan Muhammadiyya University. Advisor: (1) Ns. Virgianti Nur Farida, M.Kep, (2) Hj. Mua'ah, MM, M.Pd. Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) is an enlargement of the non-cancerous prostate gland. BPH is found in more than men over the age of 60 years. BPH can cause pressure on the urethra where the urethra penetrates the prostate so urination becomes difficult, reduces the strength of urine flow, or causes urine to drip. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of balloon blowing relaxation on physiological relaxation response and decreased pain in BPH TURP post op patients. The research design used in this study was a pre-experimental design with one group pre test and post test design approach without control. The population in this study were 30 patients. A sample of 30 patients with sampling quota sampling technique. The research instrument used an observation sheet, check list, the results of data collection were then tested using the Wilcoxon test with the SPSS version 22 program. The results showed that there was an effect of relaxation of the balloon blowing on physiological relaxation responses and the reduction in pain was mostly 16 patients (53.3%) and a small number of patients post BPH TURP surgery after relaxation balloon blowng technique experienced mild pain as many as 4 patients (13.3% ), and the rest experienced moderate pain in as many as 10 patients (33.3%). Based on the results of testing with the Wilcoxon sign rank test Z - 4.456b statistical test with a significance of 0.00 (p,> 0.005), H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning there is an effect of balloon blowing relaxation on physiological relaxation response and pain reduction in postoperative patients. BPH TURP at Dahlia 4 Room at Dr. Soegiri Lamongan Hospital. Looking at the results of the study it is recommended that BPH TURP postoperative patients do balloon blowing relaxation techniques as an alternative therapy to see physiological relaxation responses and reduce pain in BPH TURP postoperative patients in addition to pharmacological therapy.
