PART 1

According to a research, it is estimated that every time a spawn of a female Aedes mosquitoe can produce up to 200 eggs. It
can spawn until 3 to 5 times with an estimate of 1000 eggs in a lifetime. A female Aedes mosquitoe can live with a average
of 100 days. Aedes mosquitoe eggs can hatch two or seven days depending on weather conditions and surrounding
temperature. From the result of the research, you are required to identify information regarding the estimated number of
Aedes mosquitoes population based on data given in Table 1. In this analysis, 1o Aedes mosquitoes were used as early
samples in the first observation. 10 of these mosquitoes are left from 10 days to produce the population of Aedes
mosquitoes for the second observation. The further observations are carried out every 10 days interval until the sixth
observation as shown in Table 1.

Table 1

(a) Based on Table 1, found that the population of the Aedes mosquitoes increase several times compared to previous
observations of the Aedes mosquitoes population. Configure an appropriate equation to associate the increases of
the Aedes mosquitoe population.

(b) Based on the results of the research above, the number of the dead Aedes mosquitoes population is too small. Thus,
the equation that relates the increase of the Aedes mosquitoes population in question (a) is still relevant for the
number of Aedes mosquitoes population until the nth observation
(i) Configure an appropriate linear equation for the Aedes mosquitoes population.
(ii) Construct a suitable table and draw a linear graph that links equation (b)(i) for the range 1 ≤ n ≤ 6.

(c) Using the graph you have drawn in question (b)(ii), estimate
(i) the number of population of Aedes mosqutoes produced within 15 days
(ii) the minimum number of days needed so that the number of the Aedes mosquitoes population reaches one
million.
PART 2
Aedes mosquitoes is said to be a dengue fever virus carrier. Dengue fever is a type of a disease that can spread through the
bite of Aedes mosquitoes that have been infected by this virus. The bite of an Aedes mosquito will spread dengue virus to
healthy people.

If identified 0.15% of the Aedes mosquito population is the carrier of dengue fever disease, estimate the number of Aedes
mosquitoes population expected to be a dengue fever carrier within 30 days of observation.

Then five mosquitoes were randomly selected from the study to be sampled. From the sample, determine the probability
that

(i) there is no mosquito carrier for dengue virus,

(ii) the five mosquitoes are carriers of dengue virus.
