Topic: What I Am Thankful For!

Objectives:

● I can include illustrations to my writing to help my readers understand it better

Groupings:

● whole group (topic intro)

● Partnerships (revisions/editing)

Materials:

● blank copy paper (circle map and flee map)


● writing journal
● pencil
● blue pen

Procedures:

Day one:

● Topic intro
● WG Brainstorming (circle map)
● Writing organization (flee map)

Day two:

● Finish Flee map


● Oral Rehearsal (SW record themselves reading their Flee Maps, turning each bulleted section
into a complete sentence, to help with rough draft)
● Start rough draft

Day three:

● Finish Rough Draft

Day 4:

● Peer edit (roundup revision)


● Writing office (help with revision and edits)

Day 5:
● Start/finish final draft

Assessment: ​Teacher will conference with each student throughout the week during different stages of
writing process to assess each students understanding of the topic/processes.
