HOSPITAL NOTES & PRAYER CONCERNS: Jerry Van Den Top is hospitalized at
MercyOne in Sioux City following surgery. Bob Van’t Hul is hospitalized at Avera in
Sioux Falls. Brian Kleinwolterink will have surgery on Tuesday, October 15, at Avera in
Sioux Falls. Mae Vis is home following hospitalization.
WE EXPRESS OUR SYMPATHY to Joel and Lindsey Kostelyk on the passing away of
Lindsey’s grandfather, William “Bill” Burggraaf of Rock Valley. A memorial service
was held on Saturday, October 5, at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church. May God
comfort those who mourn.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS: This week Betty Brunsting moved from Aspen Heights to
Pleasant Acres. She is in Room 115 and has the same phone number (439-1863).
THANK YOU: I want to thank everyone for food, cards, and calls. Thank you to Pastor

THE HAITI CHRISTMAS BAGS are due back to church on Wednesday, October 16.
THE SHARE GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, October 17, at
6:00 P.M. at the Homestead Commons in Hull. We will enjoy soups and bread for supper
and pie for dessert. If you had not volunteered to bring food, please consider bringing $5
to help cover expenses. Following our meal, we will enjoy a concertina program from

THE WOMEN’S MINISTRIES planning meeting will be held on Monday, October 21,

HALLOWEEN GAME NIGHT for young adults will be held Friday, October 25, at

IMPACT SERVICE DAY has been postponed to Saturday, November 2. Since we are
happy to rake lawns, we want to make sure the leaves have time to fall off your trees!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The 8th Annual Cookie Walk will be held on Saturday,
December 7. Time to start thinking about what you want to donate to make the morning
a success! We need cookies, candy, salty snack mixes, sweet snack mixes, and other
treats. This is a great fundraiser for the Building Fund. Thanks!
HAITI TRIP DATE CHANGE: The dates for the 2020 Haiti trip have been changed to
March 30 - April 8. If you are interested in traveling to UCI to work alongside JeanJean
and Kristie, please talk to Jeanne Visser by Sunday, October 20.
If a pastoral concern or need arises, it is the responsibility of the family to contact
Pastor Van, an elder, or the church office.
Jim Harrison, former missionary to Bahrain that we
supported, will be with us to speak during worship on
Sunday, October 27.
There will be a Q. & A. time with Jim during the Sunday
school hour followed by a potluck lunch. Hot sandwiches
and drink will be provided, please bring a salad or side dish
to share.
