Directions: Answer the following question accordingly. Write F if the statement is TRUE;
write T if the statement is FALSE.
1. Do not the write the story after the interview.
2. Evaluate your notes. Select the most newsy information, idea or opinion revealed and
play it up in the story.
3. Begin with a striking lead- a direct quotation, indirect quotation or summary lead.
4. Ask embarrassing and personal questions.
5 . Read to him key words and potentially controversial phrases and statements to make
sure you are getting them right and in context.
IV. Evaluation
Directions: The students will watch “Story Corps Animation” (an interview between a
mom and her 12 year old son). After watching the video they will make a summarization
and write the effective questions based on the copies provided.
