Activities you can enjoy to practice vocabulary both online and hands on…
• Bingo: You can write 10 words on a piece of paper. The child chooses 5 of the words
from the paper and writes them down. You will then randomly select a word and say
the definition and synonym until the child has bingo.
• Outburst: Have two teams, one team you will give them a topic such as farm,
sports, etc.and they will draw what they think relates to that topic. Then the other
team will have 2 minutes to list words that they think the other team drew for that
topic.
• Lingro: this online website allows children to click on words and several definitions
are displayed in many languages.
• Word Hippo: this website defines words, provides meaning, a word that is opposite,
pronounces the word, provides rhyming words, puts it in different contexts and
translates the word.
