14. What do you mean by rural entrepreneurship? (Unit 2)

Rural entrepreneurship is defined as entrepreneurship whose roots lie in the

rural areas but has a lot of potential to drive various endeavours in business,

industry, agriculture, etc. and contribute to the economic development of the

country. India is a country of villages. Nearly 70% of its major population

reside in villages and their livelihood is supported by agriculture and allied

activities. Thus the nations’ economic development depends largely on the

standard of living of the people who live in the rural areas and the level of

development which has actually taken place there.

Indian agriculture is exposed to low productivity, natural calamities,

agriculture & cash crop mismatch, disparities in various public private

partnerships. Since the land area for agriculture is limited, not everyone is

employed. This leads to migration of people from rural to urban areas.

Q3. Ragini, a career oriented mother, hardly got time to cook for the family.

She decided to hire a cook but was not able to find one who could cook

according to the taste of the family. Her sister Abha sensed that this problem

is not only faced by her sister but also by many working women. She

launched a website namely ‘Dial for food’ where housewives who had

culinary ability and were interested to cook could drop in their contact details

and households where specific cuisine was required could leave in their

requirements so that through the website home cooked food could be

delivered. The website mainly helped in identifying the requirement and

fulfilled it through providing delivery service. Suggest the marketing plan to

Abha and identify any two uses of problem identification to Abha. (Unit 3)

Ans.

Abha, sister of ragini has developed a solutionfor the problem faced bt

ragini. Shae has launcghed a website named “ dial for food” which will serve

as a platform to link to those who are willing to give their services and those

who are willing to use the services.

After the launching of the website now the next most important thing is to

make suitable and efficient marketing plan so that the website becomes

successful.

Marketing plan involves deciding on various factors like segmenting the

market choosing the target market and then correctly positining the product

or service in the target market.

Here in this case the appropriate target market would be the women

category of middle and upper middle and upper section of the society as

these are the ones who cxan afford such a service and these are the classes

who suffer or face this problem so this section will be appropriate to target

for our servicxe.

Next important aspect is that we have decide that how will be market or

make people aware about the existence of this website.

This can be don by designing a advertisement and making use of the digital

platform as well as traditional methods of advertisement and promotions.

This will enable us to reach a lot of people and ythereby increase the profit.

Th advertisement cost can be reduced by not allocating a lot of budegt

towards advertisement but it should not be so less that it fails at leavin g a

impact on people

This process doesnt stop here the another important thing is to then see the

results or effectivess of the plan and if there is any deviation or errors then

measures should be taken to avoid any kind of damages to the business.

Benefits for abha because of problem identification:

The major benefit that abha got after developing a sloution for the problem

is that now she is an entrepreneur as the problem identification motivated

her to find a solution which could be developed as a business , resulting in

the development of a website to cater to the similar problems of other

people as well. This enable her to become a entrepreneur.

She also helped in adding value and increasing th economic value of the

nation overall.
