Be prepared!

Earthquakes have plagued our lives for as long as people have inhabited the earth. These dangerous acts
of the earth have been the cause of many deaths in the past century.

A powerful earthquake hit the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Oct 31, leaving at least
five people were dead. The magnitude 6.5 quake struck at 9am in cotabato province. It was the third
quake to hit in two weeks, all measuring more than magtitude 6 according to CNA news.
Have you ever imagined yourself in a situation where people can no longer properly stand on their own
feet and are thrown into a state of intense fear and desperation by witnessing dozens of well-built
buildings fall apart? How could people possibly survive this kind of very destructive scenario?
Disasters are like thieves in the night. We can never be a hundred one percent ready but preparedness is
definitely workable beforehand. With the help of each and everyone’s effort in spreading awareness of
their possible risks, we can surely prevent and mitigate the hazards in our communities, properties, and
most especially all forms of life.

Once a disaster happens, the time to prepare is gone. The best way to cope with a natural disaster is to
prepare by having a plan before it strikes. No one can prevent natural disasters. But you can prepare for
them.
