Macao is an autonomous region on the southern coast of China.
It is located next to Canton Province, 70 km southwest of Hong Kong. It was administered by the Portuguese Empire from the middle of the 16th century until the end of 1999. Macau culture is a combination of traditional Chinese culture and Portuguese culture. Macao is also known as "Las Vegas of Asia", for being a metropolitan and dynamic city associated with a glamorous nightlife with huge casinos (considered among the largest in the world), so they are very crowded of inhabitants and foreigners. Some of its tourist attractions are situated on the island of Taipa and Coloane.
