Home Reading Book

Children will begin to bring a library book home in their book bag every Friday. We ask that you
read this book to your child, ask them questions about it, and use it to promote a love of reading.
We also ask that you show children how to take care of books, hold them the correct way up and
turn pages one at a time.

Reading Morning
Every Thursday you are invited to come and share a book with your child in the classroom at the
beginning of the day (8:45 – 9:15). This is a lovely opportunity to promote a love of reading and
support your child on their reading journey.

Thank you for all your support,

Miss Ross, Miss Schoenthaler, Ms Alam and Mrs Lall

Autumn Walk
Please go on an autumn walk with your child and see what you can find:

conker berry

brown leaf bare tree

orange leaf pine cone

yellow leaf squirrel

Children can draw pictures of what they have drawn and begin to write some
of the sounds they hear in words.

They can count the number of objects and practise adding 2 groups together.

If you find any conkers or pine cones we would love for you to bring them into
school to fill our ‘natural objects’ area!
