6. Check that /etc/hosts contains the parsed local host name before SAP HANA
database instalation. Otherwise, database installation may fail.

7. Run cd SAP_HANA_DATABASE/ . Then chmod +x -R *.

8. Run chown root:root /hana/data /hana/log to modify username and

userground as root in /hana/log and /hana/data.

9. Run chmod 755 /hana/data /hana/log to add the execution permission for
/hana/log and /hana/data.

10. Run the cd /hana/shared/SAP_HANA_DATABASE/ command to switch to the

SAP_HANA_DATABASE directory, and run the ./hdblcm command to install
the SAP HANA database.

11. Configure the following information as prompted:

Use the HANA installation path from the default directory /hana/shared.

Enter a system ID, for example, S00, for SAP HANA System ID.

Enter the password, for example, Huawei_123, press Enter, enter the
password again, and then press Enter.
The password consists of uppercase, lowercase, digits, and special
characters.

Enter the HANA data and log storage directories as follows:

Data of SAP HANA database (data volumes) is stored in /hana/data.

Logs of SAP HANA database (log volumes) are stored in /hana/log.

13. Verify whether the SAP HANA database is installed successfully.

a. Run the su - s00adm command to switch to the administrator user of the

database system, which is configured during the database installation.

b. Run the HDB -version command to check the SAP HANA database
version. If a version is displayed, the SAP HANA database is installed
successfully.

c. Run the exit command to return to OS user mode.

d. Run ps -le |grep hdb. Check the SAP HANA database thread status

e. Starting and Stopping SAP HANA Systems.
