Beware of Slips, Trips & Falls – A high contributor to LTI Injuries

Slips, Trips and falls have contributed to 26% of the LTI incidents in
the fleet in 2013. This is second to Crush/Impact injuries (54%)

Slip/Trip/Fall Hazards:

• Holes, cracks, uneven surfaces

• Changes in Level
• Obstructions on walkways, passages, Stairways and emergency
exits
• Wet/oily & Slipper Surfaces
• Inadequate PPE, Poor Foot wear in use
• Poor Housekeeping/ maintenance
• Poor fencing/Rope/rail Guards
• Poor lighting
• Non Compliance or poor compliance with Permit to work aloft
and over side.
