BETA ZETA CHAPTER

Minutes from Monday, Oct. 25, 2010
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Beta Zeta Chapter was called to order by
President Tammy Vitek at 6:10PM.
The Dinner meeting was held to raise scholarship money and to hold an Initiation Ceremony at
the Memorial Presbyterian Church. Ceremonies and Hostess Committees were thanked for
decorating. Fellow Beta Zeta member, Janet Rabke, was thanked for catering our dinner.
Joanne Davis has submitted her name as candidate for Alpha State President. A thank you
was offered to past Beta Zeta President Jerrie Dooley for accepting the role of newsletter
editor.
Andrea Hudson and her committee have yearbooks ready and met the Early Bird deadline.
Contact Andrea at andreah@fisd.org if you would like your copy before the next meeting. We
bragged that we have the best website and webmaster in the state….Carolyn Otto. Tisha
Clements, Treasurer, is quickly learning her role.
Minutes were approved as printed. Treasurer’s Report will be filed for audit.
First Vice-President, Karen Loeffler, reported that the next meeting of Beta Zeta will be at the
newly opened Hill Country University Center on Nov. 22 at 4PM. Jerrie Dooley is the facilitator
for this program.
There were 46 members and one guest present at the Initiation Ceremony for Beta Zeta.
Our service project recipients, Boys and Girls Club of the Hill Country, report they could use
‘trinkets’ for their Treasure Box, small pencil sharpeners, and stuffed animals.
New Business- Jerrie Dooley recommended that past Beta Zeta President, Linda Runkel, be
allowed to become a Reserve Member. Lucille Rochs seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The business meeting ended with an Inspiration from Isaiah 55:1 read by Debbie Klein. The
initiation of Ida Sebera, Laurie Ward, Joyce Smith, and Linda Kesler followed. Each new
initiate was presented with a red rose and their membership certificate. After a recommitment
to DKG, led by President Tammy Vitek, the evening closed with the Delta Kappa Gamma
