PC Disassembly and Assembly

Things We’ll Need

• Star Screwdriver
• Flat Screwdriver
• Thermal Paste (optional)
• Antistatic wrist strap (optional)
 PC Disassembly
• Make sure that the PC is switched off
• Unplug the computer from the power source
• Disconnect all the externally connected
peripherals
• Ground yourself to discharge static electricity
• Open the case
• Unplug all the internal connections to the
motherboard
 PC Disassembly (cont.)
• Unscrew all the drives (HDD, CD-ROM and
Floppy Drives)
• Remove the memory cards
• Remove the Network Interface Card (NIC)
• Remove the Video Card
• Remove the CMOS battery
 PC Assembly
• Ground yourself to discharge static electricity
• Segregate and arrange the computer
peripherals
• Install the CMOS battery
• Install the Video Card
• Install the Network Interface Card (NIC)
• Install the memory cards
 PC Assembly (cont.)
• Install all the drives (HDD, CD-ROM and Floppy
Drives)
• Connect all the cables (IDE and SATA) to the
motherboard
• Close the case
 Now, It’s Your Turn
• A group can have a maximum of 3 members
• Each member has a particular task
• You will only come during your schedule
