Research Management Plan

I don’t think we need an entire slide on this - we can

just mention that we designed a research plan. Our
methodology was to perform a task based, think aloud
and survey. We thought we would sample 3 IDT
students familiar with UX design and the goals of the
IDT program at GMU first for round 1 and then other
non-students (one IDer, two non-ID/non-UX
participants and one UX designer (non student) in
round 2.

i’’m not sure what should go on this slide… - Brett

Round 1 Analysis and Conclusions
Highlight answers to questions from goals

And what we learned (reflection and conclusion on R1)

Many suggestions were for features I.Design would eventually include.

Changes to Prototype
Types of changes and highlight important ones and why
Changes in our Research Process R2: Participants
● Unlike round 1, new participants not grad students in GMU IDT program:

○ One UX design expert

○ One practicing instructional designer

○ One participant lived in Lebanon

○ One international relations non-profit employee

○ One clergy member

● Revealed how those without in-depth content knowledge viewed the

usefulness and navigability of the app

Overall Research Reflection and Takeaways
Individually and as a team

● Recruiting participants is not a given

● A recording is worth a thousand words!

Jordana - our audience members bring different experiences & understandings to

the table

Be careful what you ask for… you’ll get answers all over the place.

Mary-Leigh- The management plan does not have to be set in stone. It can iterate
if necessary.
