MISSING FIGHTER PLANES
1814. DR. SANJAY SINH:
Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that missing of fighter planes of the country has become a regular
phenomenon;
(b) if so, the number of missing planes and jets during the last three years;
(c) the number of fighters and defence aircraft crashed during the last three years; and
(d) the incidence-wise rescued and the report of cockpit operations therefor?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
DR. SUBHASH BHAMRE
(a) & (b): No fighter plane has gone missing in the last 3 years, except one AN 32 transport
aircraft presumed to have crashed into the Bay of Bengal during a sortie from Air Force
Station Tambaram to Port Blair on 22.7.2016.
(c) 37 fighters and defence aircraft have crashed during the last three years.
