Why I chose this topic:

While reading this years theme, one thing came to mind and was the space race. The space race

is a big part of American and world history. It provides fascinating details and technology that

will impact our lives and still do today. These events were the beginning of space exploration

and the start of exploring the unexplored. The only thing left was who was going to get there

faster. This was really interesting, and fit with breaking barriers, this is why I decided to choose

this topic.

How did we conduct our research?

We began to conduct our research by first browsing on the internet for reliable sources which fit

our needs. We would also try to find primary sources such as pictures and documents from the

space race. We also decided to look at some books that fit our topic, and they provided very good

information which we would use for our main slides in our website. We wanted to add a video to

add variety and this was included in the website as well.

How did we choose our category and how did we create our project?

We decided to choose a website because of multiple reasons one being we are all good with

technology we are familiar with the features that are implemented in weebly. I would rather do a

website than anything else like an exhibit because in an exhibit you have to be together with your

teammates. While in a website we can all work on it together while being at home. We started

creating our project by organizing the different tabs we had in mind for our website. Then we

gathered our info and put them in the tabs.

How does our topic relate to this year’s theme breaking barriers?

Our topic relates to this year’s theme of breaking barriers by presenting the barrier broken of

going to the moon. It shows how we broke a barrier in space exploration. The space race has

allowed us to think far beyond what we were thinking before. We now have projects on going to

other places like mars.
