MECHANICS OF THE CONTEST:

1. The competition is required to all Nursery and Kindergarten students of Dominican School
Manila, S.Y. 2019-2020.
2. Character costume must represent a literary or historical figure. Examples are “The
Gingerbread Man” or “Alice in Wonderland.” Cartoon and comic book characters are not
allowed.
3. Character costume must be school appropriate. Use of weapons are prohibited.
4. Book featuring the character is to be brought to school and carried during the parade.
5. Use of recycled materials is strongly encouraged.
6. Judging of entries shall be on the day of the parade.
7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

THE CRITERIA FOR JUDGING ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Artistic Impression: Creativity and Overall Impact 50 %

Design and Execution: General Effect in Presentation 25 %
Creative Use of Materials: Innovative Use of Materials and Resourcefulness 25 %
