FIREBIRD

As Stravinsky is a Russian composer, we decided to look for a dissertation on a web-site, which

is the most famous and tremendous Russian archive of doctoral dissertations: dissercat.com

1. The present study is devoted to the interpretation of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet scores of the
“Russian period”, which include The Firebird (1910), Petrushka (1911), The Rite of Spring
(1913), and The Svadebka (1923), where vocal-verbal and dance-pantomime elements are
mixed.

period" (PhD diss., Vaganova Ballet Academy, St.-Petersburg,
2017), https://www.dissercat.com/content/khoreograficheskie-interpretatsii-baletov-igorya-
stravinskogo-russkogo-perioda/read
Only abstract is available.

2. The study explores the Stravinsky and Balanchine community in the context of the 20th
century ballet theater. Its material is the joint ballet of Balanchine and Stravinsky, the ballet of
Balanchine to the non-ballet music of Stravinsky, as well as the ballet made by them in
collaboration with other authors.

Only abstract is available.

3. The purpose of this dissertation is to expand the prevailing ideas about sphere of images in
works related to the early period of the composer's work, by identifying their synesthetic
specificity. The research material selected fantasy for the Fireworks orchestra, three Russian
ballets - The Firebird, Parsley, Sacred Spring and the Nightingale opera, as, in our opinion, the
most revealing works in the synesthetic aspect.
