Context: The students were asked to sign the school agreement where they agreed to use the ICT at

school for school purposes and to be safe, responsible and ethical with their use of ICT at school. To
maintain safe and supportive learning environments, I regularly modelled and reminded the
students of the responsible use of ICT.

Standards achieved: 4.5

As per school policy, each student in my class completed the ICT agreement, in which the students
agreed to comply with the school policy of using ICT safely, responsibly and ethically (4.5). In
addition to this, I have repeatedly modelled and reminded students of the importance of being safe
on the internet and with all ICT equipment. As a class we discussed the idea of online stranger
danger and to only use applications that are secure and safe. As part of our religious and inquiry
units, the students spent time researching information from websites I had carefully selected. I
explicitly taught the students about online plagiarism, including writing down the name of the
website from where you gathered information.

Reflection:

The students now understand the risks of using, viewing and sharing information online. The
students know to use websites that are appropriate for the activity, their age and that they are
secure sites. They know to keep passwords secret and secure, which is evident in the way the
students keep their passwords in safe place.
