Tema: Los Pinochet Boys

Hello everyone, i'm going to talk about the pinochet boys. First, what were the pinochet
boys? The pinochet boys were one of the pioneer bands of the Chilean post punk. Its
members were: Daniel Puente Encina in bass and voice, Iván 'Vanchi' Conejeros in the
guitar, Miguel Conejeros in keyboard and guitar, and finally Sebastián 'Tan' Levine in the
battery. The band was active between nineteen eighty four and nineteen eighty devén, in
these years they played in a variety of bars and small enclosures, most of the time these
concerts were clandestine, as a result their shows ended mostly in fights between the police
and the punks. Discography: The recorded discography of the pinochet boys was limited to
only two themes, 'Música del general' and 'Botellas contra el pavimento', and despite the fact
that the music technique they had was very bad, what stood out was their lyrics, where they
expressed how repressed they felt in the dictatorship of Pinochet. Their separation was after
they left the country in nineteen eighty six, after a series of concerts they did in Argentina
and Brasil, despite this, the precariousness and instability within the band caused the
members to get bored and end up dissolving the band to continue each on they solo career.
The importance of this band lies in the influence it had on the post-punk Chilean music
scene, where it influenced bands such as Los Fiskales, Los miserables even Tronic. Thanks
for listening.
