I've conducted an interview to my aunt who became widow at the very young age, and I got

so many realizations from the experiences she stated. The biggest challenge that a widow
faces is to fight grief while facing new challenges but they need to be strong and manage
their own grief alongside that of their children."You are never prepared" she was
unprepared for widowhood. She was also dealing with emotional crisis at that time because
of her loss. I can feel her pain because they have a son who was 4 years old at that time. It can also be a
huge challenge to relearn how to live without her husband and and to thrive again. Being a single
mother is hard specially when facing additional challenges in life like for example the struggle is that
there maybe greater financial strain as she becomes a both breadwinner and caregiver to sustain her
son's need. I also realize that we should be greatful that we have a complete family who are always
there with us through ups and downs.
