Why is it so hard to lose weight?

The 99% of the tips consist of reducing the consumption of total calories, reducing the
consumption of fats and doing low-intensity cardio for long periods of time; allowing the
consumption of processed flours and sugars as long as they are within the "caloric limit".

Doing the above will only spoil your metabolism and will cause diseases.

The secret to losing weight is to focus on the metabolism. To have a metabolism that keeps
you slim and energized you should:

Eat as a hunter gatherer: water, fruits, nuts, eggs, meat and fish. If it did not exist during the
Paleolithic, do not eat it. It is not necessary to count calories.
Exercise as a hunter-gatherer: intense, very intense exercise, in short periods of time, and
favoring movements that require explosiveness. Modern versions of this form of movement
are found in Martial Arts, Tabatha, HIIT, Crossfit, Insanity.
Sleep and rest as a hunter gatherer. Sleep as early as you can for 8 or 9 hours.
There is your DNA of millions of years of evolution, ready to help you stay healthy and
without overweight, waiting for you to behave as a hunter gatherer. Or you can behave as a
modern obese, ingest sugars and flours that your body stores in the form of body fat, and get
the wide variety of conditions that entails.

Losing weight has never been an easy task because it requires many changes in lifestyle,
which in turn require effort, and we also have our own body against.

Our bodies are designed to retain as much fat as possible, since this means an evolutionary
advantage. Millions of years ago, when human beings lived thanks to hunting and gathering,
retaining fat was advantageous because it could survive in the event of not having food. This
was true for millions of years.

Nowadays, food is no longer scarce but quite the opposite. But our bodies are still adapted
to scarcity, and hence they continue to retain as much fat as possible.

Therefore, the process to get rid of accumulated fat is much more complicated than the
process to store it. For example, a couple of minutes are enough to consume 500 calories,
but it is necessary to do physical activity for hours to burn those same 500 calories.

This is why the most common recommendation to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit.
That is, we have to reduce our calorie consumption and increase spending. Usually, this is
achieved with diet and exercise.

However, not everything comes down to that. As I said, our bodies are designed to retain as
much fat as possible and it is not that easy to reverse that trend.
For a person who has been overweight or obese for a while, dieting and exercise will give
good results. But after a while, you will have to change your strategy to continue losing
weight, as the body will redouble its efforts to conserve its reserves of fat. It is no
coincidence that lowering the last 10 or 5 kilos is the most difficult.

Because deep down, the fat storage process is regulated by hormones. There will come a
time when more diet and exercise you do, you will not lose weight because your hormones
are doing everything possible to prevent it.

However, measures can be taken to ensure that hormones allow the burning of fat, such as
sleeping well, reducing stress, performing intermittent fasting, exercising at high intensity at
intervals, consuming "good" fats, etc.

In conclusion, losing weight means fighting against millions of years of evolution, against bad
habits, against a sedentary lifestyle, against hormones, and against daily stress. In contrast,
to gain weight you only need a few minutes and a good pizza with a soft drink.
