CONCLUSION

In conclusion, we got to study the reaction of carboxylic acid and its derivatives with specific
reagent by using acid and base reaction test, reaction of FeCI3 with ethanoate test and
reaction with nitrous acid solution test. All these tests produced a positive test that formed
carboxylic acid as their end product. Precautions that should be taken are, make sure the test
tube is a dry test tube with no water particles in the test tube. Other than that, measure
properly the chemical so that no waste of chemical. This experiment should be done with
PPE because the chemical can harm the skin.
