THE DANCING CLASS
Finally comes the dancing class. Julie loves dancing.
She loves hip-hop, and she is good at it. She practises
two hours every day. It’s hard work, because hip-hop
is not easy. Her dancing partner is Sebo. He is very
good. He is the world champion. They like to dance
together and create new ideas. Martina was the first
dancer in the family. When Martina and Julies’s
parents moved from Warsaw to the village, Martina
went to dancing classes, and little Julie followed
her. She was only two years old!!! She loved to watch
her sister dance. Now Martina has too much work
at school. If Julie wins this year she will go to
Barcelona for the World Championships. Her family
and friends and the whole village will keep
their fingers crossed.

IT S BEEN A LONG DAY!
What a long day it has been!!! Now it’s time for Julie
to eat her supper, wash her teeth, hug her dad,
(a small hug for Martina this time), scratch Libra
behind the ear, and kiss mummy good-night. Before
closing her eyes she thinks it’s not so bad she is going
to school again tomorrow. And her grandparents
are coming on Saturday. Julie loves her grandma
but she just LOVES her grandpa. No wonder.
They look alike. And grandpa just LOVES Julie.
But Julie cannot fall asleep. Martina is talking
on her cell phone with her boyfriend Matt. “Martina,
stop it, I want to sleep, I’m going to school tomorrow!”
“So what, everybody’s going to school tomorrow!”

“I have work to do.”

THE WEEKEND
It’s been a long week. Finally the weekend arrives.
Julie’s grandparents are coming for lunch. Grandpa
is honking the horn. Julie runs up to him and jumps
on his knee. “Grandpa, I have so much to tell you!!!”
Grandpa is laughing. “Ok, Ok, just let me get out
of the car, Julie.”
The day is perfect. It’s sunny and warm and the family
are having lunch in the garden. The girls are talking
about school. Martina likes her new school in the city
centre. Julie loves her teacher and the kids
but she hates Jacob. Jacob keeps pulling her hair
all the time. He eats her sandwiches, pushes
her in the corridor and draws silly pictures in her
copy–book. “He is such a bully!” Julie says. “Maybe
he just likes you!” Martina laughs. Julie looks
at her crossly. But Mummy gives everyone vanilla
and strawberry and chocolate ice-cream for dessert
and Julie stops thinking about Jacob.
Life is beautiful when you have the best ice-cream
in the world.
