Human is facing plenty of environmental problems such as natural disasters,

ozone layer depletion, greenhouse effects, climate change,… It is believed that

authorities and large companies have to take responsibility of cutting off the
amount of damaging being done to the environment since there are only very small
things that individuals can do to help tackle the issues. To some extent, I agree
with this statement.

One first reason for my agreement is governments and companies have

enough conditions to improve the situation. Authorities and big associations have
modern technology, large amount of money and human resources to help the
environment. For instance, in some developed countries, the ministry and large
companies invest money in order to enhance the country’s technology so as to
reduce water pollution, highten water quality while individuals are unable to cope
with these problems.

Moreover, to reduce pollutants, people’s awareness also has to be improved.

They should know the negative effects of pollution and how to cut off these. Only
authorities and large organizations have enough popularity to do this work. For
example, in my area, leaders often hold meeting and speeches about protecting the
environment. They co-operate with companies to encourage people to use
alternative and eco-friendly resources such as solar power, wind power instead of
conventional types of energy.

However, not only governments and large companies but also each
individuals must be responsible for protecting the environment. It is not necessary
for each person to do big things. Nowadays, lots of people have bad lifestyle like
littering or smoking, which can harm the environment. If you are aware of the
problems and change your bad habits, the amount of pollutants released everyday
can be reduced significantly.

In conclusion, both goverments and companies as well as citizens have to

take responsibility to help the Earth. Why don’t we give authorities and
organizations a helping hand for a worth-living home in the future?
