On the Island
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15505346-on-the-island?ac=1&from_search=true

Ideal quote:

“We’d come a long way since our days of sleeping on the ground. Just a couple castaways
playing house.”

TELL ME WHY:

- it's a survival story, just like Mud Vein, but instead of a snowed mansion, now we have a
beautiful exotic island.
- for once, the woman is older than the man, so we should expect a wise main heroine and a
cute male lead
- the kind of book that would make Dani Mocanu proud, the gardă won't find them there.
- we are promised a HAE. We need more Cancer stories with HAE.
- I think overall, this is exactly a contemporary we would both love. I have a thing for
survival stories, think love blossoms so smoothly in those rough times.
2. To all the boys I’ve loved before
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15749186-to-all-the-boys-i-ve-loved-
before?ac=1&from_search=true

Ideal quote:

“I liked you first. By all rights, you were mine. And if it had been me, I'd have packed you
in my suitcase and taken you with me, or, you know what, I would have stayed. I would
never have left you. Not in a million years, not for anything.”

TELL ME WHY:

- this is the best contemporary book. At least for me. I remember Simina recommending them to me
and telling me that this series it's simply something else. And it is.
- it has one of the most loveable heroines out there. She bakes cookies trying to find the best recipe
out there. Like Miriam.
- Lara Jean and Peter are really made for each other. It's truly impressive how well they match.
- I would go as far as reccomanding you the audiobook for it, they really are the best narrated books
out there.
- the thing is, this book ain't just a love story. It really has enough amazing events to sustain itself as
an amazing experience even if it didn't have romance. But the romance is there, and the romantic
scenes are truly beautiful.
3. The bookish life of Nina Hill
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/42379022-the-bookish-life-of-nina-
hill?ac=1&from_search=true

Ideal quote:

“Nina was enjoying the book; the writing was beautiful, the characters were real, the
situations were bittersweet, but it was after an hour or so of reading that she came across a
line that struck her so forcefully she had to close the book for a moment: "I'm lonely, " the
young character Ulysses said, "and I don't know what I'm lonely for.

TELL ME WHY:

- this girl is a avid reader. We're going to be in the mind of an avid reader and read all of those
bookish facts. And for once, it seems like it is done right.
- people described it as having a fairytalesque atmosphere.
- I think the main character will be so relatable, we will become kindred sprits immediately.
- Nina really has to be brave in this one : she has to pause reading and go outside…meet people…be
social. HER LIFE IS HARD.
4. Have Courage, Be Kind: The Tale of Cinderella

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22540275-have-courage-be-
kind?ac=1&from_search=true

Ideal quote:

“You must always remember this: Have courage, and be kind. You have more kindness in
your little finger than most people possess in their whole body. And it has power. More
than you know.”

TELL ME WHY:

- while maybe not the most impressive Disney movie to date, it is surely the most meaningful one. It
may be just me, but it is not only once when I am sad or scared when I remember the Godmother's
words : don't see the world the way it is, but the way it could be.
- I think Ella was truly a formidable character in the movie. Apart from Lily's amazing acting, I think
Ella was truly such an outstanding character. And Kit was such a beautiful and inspiring young
man, really worrying and striving to make sure he'll make an amazing king.
- we'll get to read about the ball scene. In any Cinderella retelling they are the best part of the book,
but just imagine this one.
- the book has mostly good reviews about the writing, one girl saying she cried when it ended, that's
how much she loved it.
- Lavander’s blue dilly dilly. Lavander’s gree. If you love me, dilly dilly, I will love you .
- Sounds like the kind of book that Eugene would believe in, you know, he believes in a world where
karma is real, you do good, you get good, you do bad, you get bad. Fairytale concept.
5. Lock every door.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41837243-lock-every-door?from_search=true
Ideal quote:
“Never take anything you haven’t earned, my father used to say. You always end up paying
for it one way or another.”

TELL ME WHY:
- it's known to have a striking plot twist.
- moreover, it really sounds like a truly unique mystery thriller book, being paid to live in an
apartment with such a dark history.
- people described it as being a page turner, impossible to put down, very fast paced
- we can keep guessing together, but we probably won't get it right XD

6. An enchantment of ravens
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30969741-an-enchantment-of-
ravens?ac=1&from_search=true
Ideal quote:
“Isobel, I love you wholly. I love you eternally. I love you so dearly it frightens me. I fear
I could not live without you. I could see your face every morning upon waking for a
thousand years and still look forward to the next as though it were the first.”

TELL ME WHY:

- Cindy loved it.

- it was described as a tamer version of A
cruel prince, with less smutt, more delicacy.
- The heroine is a painter. For some reasons
painters always have the most colorful minds in
books.
- it's a standalone, so the story is complete
- the Fae Prince is the Autumn Prince, so it
fits the season.
- it's probably one of those books where it's more a romance fantasy than a fantasy romance, and that's
always a wonderful thing.

7. The Evil queen

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40242200-the-evil-queen?ac=1&from_search=true
Ideal quote:

"Evil isn't born, it's made. One thought and action at a time. Take a good look at what you've
made."
TELL ME WHY:
- she was only the Queen. They put the evil after her name.
- if you choose this, we are so going to imagine Everley as Regina Mills.
- the whole idea of people being propheciesed to be a certain fairytale character sounds LIT.
- I always find it utterly fascinating to see the story of how evil was made, especially when I
can compare it with Once.
- I think that with most villains, it was kind of obvious why they were bad, what made them
bad. But with the Evil Queen, you can see there is so much more to the story, and I am so
glad a good retelling is happening.
8. The shadow queen
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23299513-the-shadow-queen?ac=1&from_search=true

Ideal quote:
“You don't go into battle because you're sure of victory. You go into battle because it's the
right thing to do.”

TELL ME WHY:

- The strong princess vibe totally makes me think of Mary Mararete. Snow White was one of
the most 1dimensional princess at Disney, but I am so pleased with seeing her imagined as a
fighter.

- Think what would have happened if instead of hitting Charming in the head, she would have
hit Graham when the evil queen sent him to kill her. I think this book is exactly that, and I
am so excited for the concept.
- All those princelings. Excuse mee, this one is a king.

- It’s a standalone. So we’ll get the whole story.

9. This Savage Song

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40642172-this-savage-song?ac=1&from_search=true
Ideal quote:
“I read somewhere," said Kate, "that people are made of stardust."

He dragged his eyes from the sky. "Really?"

"Maybe that's what you're made of. Just like us."

And despite everything, August smiled.”

TELL ME WHY:
- I remember to this day that tumblr post where you were asked to draw a monster, look at
it, and then ask yourself why you think what you drew it’s a monster. This book deals
with this concept as well as with the idea that evil is just a point of view.
- August is a violin player who can take souls just by playing strings. But he loves humans.
He wants to befriend them, and to protect them. And his darkest secret? He wants to be
like them, raw, pure, alive. This sounds a lot to me like Gabriel, minus the angel part.
- Wanted to reada V. E . Schwab book in so long, and I think this is something we would
both enjoy very much. It sounds exciting and dark. And memorable.
- From what I’ve heard, the prose is sublime.

10.Crown of wishes
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/34964865-a-crown-of-wishes
Ideal quote:
“In that moment, he looked like mischief and midnight, like a temptation that always slipped away too
fast and left you at once relieved and disappointed.”

TELL ME WHY:

-this book is an all certainty, a

very good book. I remember
reading like 10% of it but
dropping it because I had too
much going on in my life and
wanted to be able to really enjoy
this book without any anxiety.
-Simina read it at my
recommendation, loved it, gave it
5 stars.
-The main guy is absolutely
amazing. Really. Absolutely
amazing.
-The heroine is such a strong and amazing princess, your whole being is rooting for
her.
-this book follows a magic competition with peculiar trials and amazing stakes. There
is not a thing better for me in fantasy books than magic quests to gain something.
-this book is inspired by the Indian mythology as the author is Indian herself.
-the prose is to die for.
-it’s a standalone, so the story is completed at the end
-at its core, it’s still a love story, with the trope of “enemies to lovers”
