Problem Identification

For this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, we have chosen Kelas
Kaseh a community organization that provide informal tutoring classes for Orang Asli students
in Semenyih and Dengkil to do social works. After discussing with the coordinator of Kelas
Kasih, we decided to do volunteer works there due to some problems. Since we are in a group
of four members, we are difficult in conducting of the students because each students likely
suitable paired with volunteer to provide better attention for all students.

In Malaysia, Orang Asli, especially those who live in rural settlements and in the forest,
face numerous obstacles. Many of them, who still practise a traditional way of life, have taken
it upon themselves, with a little help from government and non-governmental organisations, to
make sure they do not remain stagnant while the rest of the country surges ahead. One such
aspect involves education. Many members of the older generation are illiterate because they
never had the chance to go to school, but they want to give the younger generation a chance of
attaining a better life. Education is important because the future generation might not want to
live in traditional way anymore. Without a good education, it will be very difficult to face the
increasing challenges brought about by advancement in society, as it will be difficult to get
jobs that can offer decent and steady income.

As profession engineer, we plan a tourism Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

project to make community think global and act local as well as to accomplish the objectives
of this project to expose the Orang Asli students with the STREAM programme and focusing
on academic and character building, tutors apply learning module in attractive ways else well
to improve their lives so that future generations can have a brighter future in modern-day
Malaysia.
